Hilary de Vries A Sample of Tunes

Some more of my tunes.  All were played on my Bleazey session recorder and recorded on computer using the Audacity Sound Editor.  The tunes have been presented unaccompanied to let you really here them, and those marked with an asterisk can be found in the tune book 'The Buzzard & the Crow', which is available to buy via this website by clicking here.

I hope you enjoy the music!

1) The Goose with the Unclipped Wing*/ Running the Gauntlet   3.08 2.87MB
Some tunes suggest a name that has no particular reference to anything, but somehow just suit them.  These two tunes fall into that category.

2) Calum & Grace/ Badaguish/ Isabel's Tune*   3.34 3.27MB
The first tune was to celebrate the wedding of Calum & Grace; Badaguish was written after a weekend of friends, music and food there.  The third tune was written to mark the arrival of Isabel Mhairi Robinson
3) Bellton Wood*/ The Loom/ Broughty Castle*   3.44 3.43MB
Bellton Wood is on the Black Isle.  The second tune reminded me of driving around Lewis on a warm day and hearing the sound of looms from open workshop doors.   Broughty Castle is near Dundee and used to have an exhibition on the whaling industry
